Bachelor Party Barbecue Sauce What Happened

Let us begin with a little fact-checking. You're an employed, single guy, with your own place. You eat a lot of fast food because you can't cook worth a damn, and aren't that interested in learning how. Tonight is football night, and your buddies are coming over for wings, beer, and the game. Your favorite barbecue joint has just been shut down by the health inspector, and you don't know where to get the necessary wings. So listen up, here's what you're going to do.

Go shopping. Stop by the local thrift store and buy a medium sized sauce pan, then get about five pounds of fresh, not frozen, chicken wings, some ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, a couple of onions, some brown sugar, a lime or two, a very small can of jalapeno peppers, and a bottle of red wine, at the local grocers. You can get all of it for less than fifteen bucks. Go home, put the saucepan on the stovetop, put the wings in the oven, on the oven rack, and turn the oven to 350. Chop up the onions, and throw them into the sauce pan, squeeze the limes over the onions, then pour all the other stuff on top of that, except for the jalapenos, and, be sure to test the red wine before you add it to your soon-to-be barbecue sauce. Turn the burner on to low, and leave it alone.

How About That Australian Barbecue Sauce

Australia is a wonderful place. Beautiful landscapes, bustling cities, huge wilderness and desert areas, and the friendliest people you have ever met. Australians love beer and barbecuing, and "throwing a shrimp on the Barbie," is a national pastime. Considering this, you would think the Australians would have an excellent variety of barbecue sauce. You would be wrong.

Everywhere I went, from Sydney to Adelaide the same fifty-fifty mix of ketchup and Worcestershire was the standard barbecue sauce, so I decided to take it on myself, to educate my new friends down-under in the glories and mysteries of real barbecue sauce.

The next morning, before the inevitable evening feast of beer and beef, I went shopping. Australia, like America, is a land of mixed cultures. Immigrants from all over the world have decided to make Australia their home, so it was very easy to find all the necessary ingredients in the shops and bodegas lining the streets. In no time, I was back in my flat cooking up a big batch of my own special, knock-down barbecue sauce.

Your flavor of meat or poultry will either live or perish by the barbecue sauce that you decide to make. Barbecue sauce that gives that extra kick is what makes the barbecuing experience all the more enriching for your family and friends.

First, let's take a look at store bought barbecue sauce. All of us have seen the bottles lined up on the shelves. They all come in diverse flavors and colors, in small and large containers, but are they really the best choice for the climatic barbecue taste bud experience?

A Barbecue Sauce Bedtime Story

Once upon a time, there was a cute little girl who couldn't go to sleep. She was lying in bed, with her cat curled up beside her, which was very comfortable and cozy, but she was restless, and grumpy. After a while, the cat woke up, took a long back-bending stretch, and sauntered off. The little girl decided, since she couldn't sleep, she would follow the cat, just for fun.

She followed the cat, whose name, by the way, was Adrian, out side, and then, Adrian, with a quick look around him, scooted off into the woods. She followed him without making a sound, and after a few minutes, they came to a small clearing, by the creek. She couldn't believe her eyes! There must have been fifty cats in that clearing, and they we having a barbecue! They were also playing cards, smoking cigars, and some of them were dancing to a kitty band.

The Common And The Specialty Barbecue Sauce

When discussing the varieties and types of barbecue sauce that exist on the market today, you could go on and on for days and still not touch on all of them. The two basic groups of sauces are the common and well-known brands and types, and then the specialty sauces that target a narrow group or specific flavor for an individual recipe. The common sauces have their use in that they can be used on a large variety of meats and in many different ways, while the specialty sauces may be designed for one type of meat or a certain cooking method.

In the common sauce market, most of the barbecue sauce varieties are the sweet and tomato based products most associated with the Kansas City style of grilling. These sauces are tasty, easy to use, and have sub-categories of their own usually based on flavors. Some are brown sugar based, others sweetened with honey, and some a little spicier than others. Hickory smoked flavoring is popular for the beef eating crowd, and tangy varieties are also sprouting up more and more as this market expands in popularity. Regardless of which of these sauces you choose, they all can be used on beef, pork, poultry, and sometimes fish, and are easy to use as you usually merely add the sauce in the latter stages of cooking and let the sauce work it's magic.

How Barbecue Sauce Can Win You Elections

While nobody ever became president because of a great barbecue sauce, (except maybe Lyndon Johnson), a great tasting sauce served to large crowds or small gatherings can win you friends. This is a crucial stage in any realm of influence and is not a bad thing even if you are not running for public office. Having more friends and being more popular is important for the mayor, the president, or just to be a good neighbor.

Lyndon Johnson was the Vice-President and in charge of the space program when the Mercury Astronauts were pioneering the program. If you have ever seen the movie The Right Stuff, you will remember how he honored the seven men near the end of the movie. He threw a big Texas barbecue for them! I can assure you they had a great barbecue sauce on those ribs that day. Johnson, due to the tragic events of John F. Kennedy being assassinated became president, and most assuredly threw a few barbecues while in the White House.

Using Barbecue Sauce To Win Friends

Throughout history mankind has come together and gathered over food. In the modern world, this event has become an even bigger expression of social significance. Whether it is a grand dining event with tuxedos and evening wear, or the more common backyard cookout, the basic premise of providing quality food for guests remains a constant. In the informal cookout setting, the selection of a top-notch barbecue sauce could be the ticket to winning over new friends and influencing people to believe they are experiencing something extraordinary.

At first glance you would think that just a simple thing like a selection of barbecue sauce is not that important in planning a big event, and in the grand scheme of things it might not be the most important thing most of the time. Although, if you use the right sauce that makes your food not only open up the magic of some great barbecue but leaves your guests talking days later, you have just created something of a more mythic proportion. Your cookout will become something of local legend, and it will soon become the "in" thing to do when people show up at your next event.

Homemade Barbecue Sauce That Promotes A Healthy Immune System

With so many artificial additives these days, one can quickly see why a homemade barbecue sauce makes so much sense primarily because of many children's intolerance.
Creating a homemade barbecue sauce is simple and there are so many sauces that can be made up within 20 minutes which is great timing for getting your charcoal ready for cooking.

If you're into your health take note. Most barbecue sauce recipes use ketchup as their primary base but using a tin of chopped tomatoes is the wise thing to do. Here is the reason why.

Tomatoes are a fantastic source of lycopene for a barbecue sauce which is a health promoting pigment within the plant pigment that gives tomatoes the red color. Lycopene is great for supporting the immune system to help fight chronic fatigue which in many cases can end up leading to depression and irritability. Most often tinned vegetables and fruits are not recommended over fresh ones, but in this case they are.

Call It What You Want, It Is Still Barbecue Sauce

All over the globe there are many different sauces used to grill meats. Ultimately whatever you call it, however you say it, or whatever it tastes like, they are all barbecue sauces. From the chimi-churri sauce of South America, the Teriyaki sauces of Japan, the Hoisin Sauce of China, or the multitude of variations here in America such as the South Carolina mustard sauces or the sweet tomato based sauces of St. Louis and Kansas City, they all have one thing in common, to make our meats taste great.

Chimi-churri sauce is a parsley based green sauce most often seen in Argentina and Uruguay, as well as other places in South America. This sauce has made it's way north as far as Mexico and is used as a condiment, a marinade, and a barbecue sauce. There is a red variation of this sauce as well.

The Popular Trend Of The Barbecue Sauce

Across the nation and around the globe there is a big trend in the culinary markets swirling around the uses and flavors of barbecue sauce. Barbecue Sauce With A Spicy Espresso Kick

Now here is a spicy hot espresso coffee barbecue sauce for all of you caffeine addicts out there! Pouring coffee on my food is not really all that appealing to me, but after trying this recipe with all of the spicy ingredients mixed together, it's really not all that bad and decaf works just as well if you don't want your sauce to hype you up.

The main secret to this barbecue sauce is of course using good quality coffee- always try to shoot for a top quality espresso just like you would get in Italy, strong and thick in texture and finely brewed to perfection. Not being a huge coffee drinker I don't really get this craving for tiny little cup full with a little bit of added sugar until I got a taste for Italy.

After eating at a fine, authentic Italian restaurant for lunch one afternoon I got a shot of adrenaline after eating a fine meal. So listen up my friends, this barbecue sauce is not for the faint of heart because it will give you a swift kick in the pants.

A Barbecue Sauce Tale

My Uncle Arthur liked to talk, and a taste for telling fibs, so naturally he informed the best stories you ever heard. We'd really turn the TV off, when he started one of his tall tales. My favorite was his version of my granddad's automobile accident, an event that happened at least twenty years ago, and the tale had improved with every passing year. Each one of us youngsters called it his barbecue sauce story, and it goes something similar to this :
'My dad, that's your granddad, liked bbq sauce better than anything on God's green earth,' he would begin,'He would put it on everything he ate, even chocolate cake, and if he didn't have barbecue sauce on something, once or more a day, he would get a little cranky, and it was not that cosy to be around him when he was,' Uncle Arthur continued with a chuckle.
To start things off, I employed the last of the barbecue sauce on my eggs that morning, so father failed to get any for breakfast.

Sweet Home Alabama White Barbecue Sauce

Traditionally, Alabama white barbecue sauce is an incredible healthy low carb tasty alternative as its base is mayonnaise rather than tomato. Because it needs to rest for about twelve hours after preparation, you will need to prepare this recipe a day ahead of time before serving in order to get the best results from this sauce.

It works fantastically for white meat like chicken and fish, but you can also use it on a burger, too.
Here is an important tip: Mayonnaise is a liquid that does not hold together very well when heated, so its better to use this sauce like you would use mayonnaise on most things that you eat. Try adding it to the meat after it is cooked rather than brushing it on during the cooking process.

However, you can brush it onto the grill, but you will have to be careful as to not overheat the barbecue sauce in order to avoid separation.Take a good look at the ingredients- no added sugar and it is low in carbs. Combine this with a low calorie, light mayonnaise and you have got a very healthy barbecue sauce.

Classic Or Gourmet BBQ Sauce For Your Steak?

When I used to be a kid, I had a dog named Prince. I didn't name him, he came that way, he also came with the sort of bad attitude only a small dog can have. Prince was some kind of spaniel dachshund mix, and was sort of funny looking, but he was also extraordinarily loyal, he loved everyone in the family, and he was a brilliant watchdog. The one thing that scared him was fireworks, and each fourth of July, at the first bang of the first firecracker he would disappear for one or two days.

My siblings and I adored the fourth. Back then, you could buy any amount of finger dumping small explosives, and we always stocked up. We also loved the 4th

We'd invite the neighbors and have a gigantic cook-out from about 2 in the afternoon, until midnight.

Up to that time, I did not know a skunk could spray on the run, but that is's just what it probably did, as Prince closed in. That skunk gave him both barrels, and then some. It all occurred so fast, my uncle and I did not have time to get within, but the skunk was far enough away from us, so we didn't get sprayed. Prince, on the other hand, was embarrassed that some kind of cat-like animal had bested him, and failed to even notice how terrible he smelled, being a fan of sharp odors, like all dogs are. He ran back to us for a sympathy pat, which he did not get.
He then dumped the whole thing on Prince. 'Tomato juice will get rid of that skunk smell, and there's some of that in my bbq sauce...

The Barbecue Sauce Basics You Should Know

Tomato based barbecue sauce is the most commonly used recipe for most barbecue events. It is certainly the most popular method. However, its popularity is most likely due to the simplicity of preparation and besides; tomatoes are ingredients that can easily be found and used.

The key point to keep in mind in preparing tomato-based barbecue sauce is to remember to cook the tomatoes very well in order for the flavor to mix in with your other sauce ingredients.

All tomato based barbecue sauce recipes are acidic. Because of this fact, it has a higher potential to burn, so try to limit your use of tomato based bbq sauce while cooking your food. To enhance the flavor more, prepare your tomato based sauce a day in advance. Mustard base sauces are mostly preferred in North Carolina. Condiments: Why Barbecue Sauce Is Often Over looked

Often times when people think of barbecue sauce they fail to grasp the possibilities behind it. Barbecue sauce is often belittled and pushed aside in the condiment world, when in fact it is one of the only seasonings that country competitions are held for and awards are given. Have you ever heard of a ketchup or mayo competition where competitors spend several years perfecting their recipes just to have the best seasoning that at last will just compliment a meal? No, that's because there are not competitions for those condiments, only barbecue sauce.
Barbecue sauce has a huge and wide range of chances and suppleness. It could be a marinade, a dressing, or an addition to a steak or burger. There are multiple different typed and different tastes, they all have that same underlining kick though that gives it an excellence from others. The issue with the misunderstandings of bbq sauce is the absence of understanding of the vastness of the condiment. If you look up barbecue sauce on a cooking website such as Food Network there are recipes for lamb, chicken and even tilapia.

Barbecue Sauce Where Did It Come From

Nobody actually knows when, or where, bbq sauce come from. Though some say Christopher Columbus brought it back from Hispanola in the late fifteenth century, and it's derived from barbacoa, an Aztec dish, still served in Mexico today on holidays and special occasions, the Chinese and jap versions of bbq sauce predate the Aztecs, and Columbus, by centuries. Most likely, it was discovered before recorded history, when our gatherer ancestors started growing snatch crops, and come across spices. Where ever and when ever barbecue sauce entered culinary history, it has become a staple condiment around the planet.
