Barbecue Sauce, Gourmet Or Classic?

Barbecue sauce is often given a bad rap because of the stigma of beer and burgers and white trash. This my be the case with some sauces, but there are also many a gourmet barbecue sauces that will be sure to entice your taste buds galore! Often times it is the ingredients of the sauce that differentiates between good and bad, gourmet and trashy. It is always a good idea to check the ingredients of the sauces you buy to steer clear of the unhealthy and unappetizing sauces. The shorter the ingredient list and the more familiar the words the better the sauce. If the ingredient list has many long words with chemical sounding names, chances are it will not be the best sauce to purchase. Not only are the preservatives bad for you, there are other sauces that will taste better!

Gourmet barbecue sauce is often served on top of a steak when you go to a steak house, however it is not called barbecue sauce. Ingredients such as garlic, butter, pepper, mustard, salt, celery, and Worcestershire will most likely all be substantial additions to the steak sauce and are also the ingredients that make up bbq sauce, what a coincidence. Not really, because these ingredients compliment meat, especially steak, very well. It is just the name barbecue sauce that tends to scare people off.
