Every new archeological discovery on land, or under the sea, is soon common knowledge, thanks to television. If you're a fan of these shows, you can bet that at least one of the explanations, from at least one of the experts, for whatever ancient ruin, monolith, or fossil being discussed, is that it was brought from outer space, by a more advanced civilization.

The pyramids of Egypt and Mexico, the cave drawings in southern France, the stone towers of Stonehenge, the geoglyphs on the Nazca desert in Peru, even the Great Wall of China, have all, at one time or another, been credited to ancient visitors from outer space, so why not barbecue sauce?
